A tribute to Hagens Rosmara

October 30th 2011: I recently heard that Hagens Rosmara had to be put down at the age of 20. I saw her at several of our National shows, and it was a pleasure to see her come back year after year and give impressive dressage displays as well as score highly in the in-hand ring. This summer her participation in the ridden class brought a smile to many faces with her body language clearly saying "fun, fun, fun". Rosmara was a pony to combine the best of breed type with performance ability. Sadly she only had two foals, but her daughter Hagens Umbra is left to carry on the line.

Hagens Rosmara was gold awarded at the national show in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2011 and also at local shows in 2008 and 2009. In 2008 she was Best In Show at the local show in storp and 2009 she was reserve Best In Show at the national show in 2009. As a three-year-old she was awarded a diploma. She has competition points in dressage in 2002, 2004 - 2010 and in 2008 she was the 9th best dressage Connemara and in 2009 she was second. She won the Swedish Connemara dressage championships in 2006 and 2009 and was second in 2007.
