A tribute to Uranus

Uranus was born in 1983 and he was one of three sons of the Elite stallion Värnbergs Neptunus. His mother Cait was by Thunder and provided Uranus with a pedigree with almost exclusively native blood on his mother's side and plenty of foreign blood on his sire's side.

Uranus had a long and successful competition career. He started as a dressage pony but later turned to show jumping and eventing and towards the end of his career he focused more and more on eventing and this was where he had his greatest success. Uranus was among the ten most successful eventing Connemaras in 1995 - 1996, 1998 - 1999 and 2001 - 2004. in 1996, 1998 and 1999 he was among the ten most successful eventing ponies of all breeds./p>

Uranus took a gold in the Swedish eventing championship in 1996. In 1997 he took a gold at the team dressage championships. The year after he competed in the Nordic eventing championships and won a gold and the year after he won a team gold at the Nordic eventing championships. He also one a silver at the Swedish eventing championships in 1999.

Among Uranus' offspring are the approved stallion Kewin, gold awarded daughters Gräns Rose and Kiwi Querida, the diploma daughter Gräns Corona. Bränntomts Ursula was third in the Connemara championships in show jumping in 2009 and Lidens Cap Amoure participating in the show jumping championships for five-year-olds in 2008. Other ponies by Uranus that have competed successfully include August, Dollar Girl, Kewin, Lidens Gentleman and Pallas.
